Instant orthodontics is a popular procedure that can straighten crooked, uneven smiles in as little as 2 visits. By using porcelain veneers instead of traditional braces, we can do in weeks what traditional orthodontics takes months or even years to accomplish.

Veneers are thin porcelain shells that are bonded to the outside surfaces of your teeth. In instant orthodontics, we use them to straighten out gaps in your smile.

Once we determine which teeth need veneers placed, we will take an impression of the teeth and send it off to a dental lab that specializes in making veneers. The lab will use the impression to fabricate a wax mold. Once we have checked to make sure that the mold is a good fit, it can be used to create new porcelain teeth.

While your custom veneers are being prepared in the lab, we prepare your teeth and fit you with temporary veneers until the new porcelain veneers are ready.

The Wand: This is a computer-controlled anesthesia device that makes injections virtually painless.
Soft Tissue Laser: We may use this laser to help re-contour your gum line or surgically remove the frenum, a muscle that often causes a space between front teeth.
How Long Does it Take to Recover from Instant Orthodontics?

The recovery time for instant orthodontics is consistent with that of other dental procedures, and is nothing compared to the months or years it takes for traditional orthodontics to work. For a few days after the veneers are placed, your gums may be slightly swollen and a bit tender, but this can be easily remedied with over-the-counter painkillers like ibuprofen. After a few days, we may need to adjust your porcelain veneers in order to give you a more comfortable fit or bite.

Patients with mild to moderate crowding of the anterior teeth are excellent candidates for instant orthodontics technology.

Most of our patients who have decided on instant orthodontics have already considered conventional orthodontics. They simply felt that 2 to 3 years with metal braces was less desirable than the 2 to 3 visits required with instant orthodontics. Another item to consider is that even with traditional braces, after your teeth are aligned properly you may still need veneers to correct the shape and color.
